A fiery statement from the “United Nations” against the Houthis

The United Nations revealed that the Houthi militia had arrested its employees and prevented communication with their families.

Spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephane Dujarric, said in the daily press conference that the two UN staff members are being held without any justification or charge, and they have been “prevented from contacting their families and offices.”

The Secretary-General’s spokesman explained that “despite receiving assurances from the Houthis, before the Security Council meeting on Yemen last Thursday, that the two employees would be released, Mr. Dujarric said that the two employees are still in detention.”

The United Nations described the detention of its staff as a “violation of the privileges and immunities of the United Nations, and a direct violation of the assurances we received last week. We call for their immediate release.”
