A new “Iranian” statement regarding the war in Yemen, in the wake of US sanctions on the “Houthis” and “Tehran”

Today, Thursday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian stressed the need to end the war in Yemen, a day after new US sanctions against the “Houthi rebels” and “Tehran”.

Abdullahian stressed, during a telephone conversation with his Polish counterpart Zbigniew Rau, that the crisis in Yemen “has no military solution.” At a time when Tehran continues to support the Houthis.

He stressed “the need to end the humanitarian blockade and the war in Yemen.”

This comes hours after the United States of America announced the inclusion of the “Houthis”, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and other countries and groups on a list of new sanctions.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Burma, China, Eritrea, Iran, North Korea, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan were included in the sanctions list because of their participation in or condoned “systematic, ongoing and massive violations of religious freedom.”

Blinken included the Houthis, al-Shabab, Boko Haram, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, and ISIS as well as ISIS in the Greater Sahara, ISIS in West Africa, the Nasr al-Islam group and the Taliban in the list of Entities of Particular Concern.
