The former foreign minister, Abu Bakr al-Qirbi, warned against trying to hide and obliterate war crimes in Yemen, after the investigation committee failed to carry out its duties.
Al-Qirbi revealed, in a tweet, today, Friday, the reason for the failure of the Commission of Inquiry of the Human Rights Council, to continue its tasks, to uncover war crimes in Yemen.
Al-Qirbi said, “The failure to renew the work of the commission to investigate war crimes in Yemen by the Human Rights Council undermines confidence in the Council as a result of the politicization of its decisions and its abandonment of its mission.”
He pointed out that the announcement of the commission’s failure “shows an attempt to conceal war crimes and human rights violations in Yemen, which will lead to the publication of reports that distort the facts and impede the solution.”
The Commission of Inquiry of the United Nations Human Rights Council announced yesterday its failure to continue its tasks, coinciding with the escalation of the Houthi militia and its violations against civilians in Marib and the rest of the governorates.
