Denmark booked a place in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar as the second European team after Germany yesterday, after defeating its Austrian guest (1-0) in the meeting that brought them together on Tuesday, in the eighth round of qualifying.
The hosts owe this victory to defender Joaquim Mihli, who scored the only winning goal for his country, in the 53rd minute of the match at “Parken Stadium” in the capital, Copenhagen.
The Danish team achieved its eighth victory in a row, and is at the top of Group F with a full score of 24 points, to become the second European team after the German “Menshaft” to guarantee its early qualification to the FIFA World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in Qatar in the winter of 2022.
