“Algeria” hardens “Djibouti” and awaits the decision against Burkina Faso


Algeria defeated Djibouti 4-0, in the match that brought them together today, Friday, in the fifth round of the African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The players of the “Desert Warriors” team were signed by Youssef Belaili, Said Benrahma, Sofiane Feghouli and Islam Slimani in the 29th, 40th, 42nd and 87th minutes, respectively, of the match that took place at Cairo International Stadium.

After this victory, the Algerian team raised its score to 13 points, and tops the list of the first group for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, two points ahead of runner-up Burkina Faso.

Algeria will meet in a decisive match with Burkina Faso at the end of the group competitions next Tuesday, at the Mustapha Tchaker Stadium in Blida.

Algeria’s national team draw in the last match is sufficient to qualify for the decisive round in the qualifiers.

Only the group leaders qualify for the final round of qualifiers, which includes a playoff, the winner of which will qualify for the finals in Qatar next year.

The Algerian national team holds the record as the most African team to achieve a series of consecutive matches unbeaten in the history of football, with 31 matches in a row, as it succeeded earlier in breaking the previous record recorded on behalf of the Côte d’Ivoire team by maintaining its record unbeaten in 26 consecutive matches, During the period from 2011 to 2013.
