Italy won the first place, while Japan ranked second, followed by France, which won the bronze medal.
Switzerland won the Green Award, and Chile the Team Spirit award.
And the French city of Lyon hosted the activities of the World Confectionery Cup in its 16th session, with the participation of 20 countries around the world that competed to prepare the best dessert cake according to the criteria of the competition, which this year was devoted to sweets inspired by nature, according to French media.
The participating chefs competed for 10 hours, during which they tried to present the most delicious recipes to impress the judging team, which included the most famous chefs such as Dominic Crane and Glen Vail.
The participating Algerian team included four pastry chefs: Salah Amour, Abdel Razzaq Abdoun, Mehdi Mhenni and Fouad Yacoub Mhenni, according to An-Nahar Online.
It is noteworthy that the World Cup of Sweets, one of the most famous and oldest cooking competitions in the world, which is held annually.
