The United Nations Security Council will hold a regular session on Thursday evening to discuss the situation in Yemen on the ground, politically and economically.
The office of the UN envoy to Yemen said, in a statement today, that Hans Grundberg “will provide a new briefing on the situation in Yemen, at exactly five o’clock in the evening, Yemen time.”
This is the second briefing of the new UN envoy to Yemen, after his first briefing on the tenth of last September. He is expected to brief the Security Council on the results of his visits and meetings he held since taking office in early September.
This comes after preliminary consultations held by “Hans” with the legitimate government, representatives of the Houthi militia and international actors, during two visits to Riyadh, Muscat and Aden.
