Coming to the market soon..a new “Wi-Fi” generation to operate smart cities in one point of contact

The Internet of Things (IoT) is witnessing a continuous demand for its use, as it involves the communication of a number of artificial intelligence devices together, such as linking smart phones with smart products from sensors, surveillance cameras, smart speakers, smart doorbells, smart vacuum cleaners, and others, to work together in a device. One, through a Wi-Fi hotspot, covers an area of the home or office; According to the “Erm News” website.
Wide connection
Recently, a new “Wi-Fi” technology called HaLow has appeared, which can connect smart “Internet of Things” systems, in one device, and with a communication range of more than one kilometer, and it also provides high energy consumption, compared to the current generation of networks. “WIFI”.
The difference between the new technology and the current “Wi-Fi” generation
The new technology, HaLow Wi-Fi, is similar in its operation to the networks of the current Wi-Fi generation.
The current generation of Wi-Fi networks when operating on a wireless frequency ranging between 2.4 GHz – 5 GHz, so it can deliver a large amount of data in a short period of time and in a high frequency range, and thus consume more energy.
The HaLow Wi-Fi network operates at a wireless frequency of only 1 GHz, which is much lower than what current Wi-Fi networks use, and as a result, it consumes much less power than current networks.
Because HaLow Wireless WiFi has a frequency of 1 GHz, it enables longer wavelengths and can provide a single access point for connected devices, with a range of more than 1 km.
The main drawback of HaLow Wi-Fi is that it uses less bandwidth than current Wi-Fi networks, which have a higher bandwidth.
Because of that, HaLow WiFi generation cannot transfer much data.
Running smart cities
The researchers designed the new “Wi-Fi” technology to meet the ever-increasing demand for “internet of things” devices in the market, and mainly to operate them, as these devices usually have basic needs for data transmission.
And since “Internet of Things” devices can in the future remain connected for longer distances than today, the new technology could be useful in the future in operating smart cities and in monitoring agricultural crops on remote farms, using sensors, and others.
When will it be put on the market?
The Wi-Fi Alliance has adopted the new Wi-Fi technology, but there is no official date for its availability in the market.
Technology experts anticipate that HaLow WiFi will soon be available in the market, as the demand for IoT-based devices continues to increase.
