The new technology, HaLow Wi-Fi, is similar in its operation to the networks of the current Wi-Fi generation.
The current generation of Wi-Fi networks when operating on a wireless frequency ranging between 2.4 GHz – 5 GHz, so it can deliver a large amount of data in a short period of time and in a high frequency range, and thus consume more energy.
The HaLow Wi-Fi network operates at a wireless frequency of only 1 GHz, which is much lower than what current Wi-Fi networks use, and as a result, it consumes much less power than current networks.
Because HaLow Wireless WiFi has a frequency of 1 GHz, it enables longer wavelengths and can provide a single access point for connected devices, with a range of more than 1 km.
The main drawback of HaLow Wi-Fi is that it uses less bandwidth than current Wi-Fi networks, which have a higher bandwidth.
Because of that, HaLow WiFi generation cannot transfer much data.

The researchers designed the new “Wi-Fi” technology to meet the ever-increasing demand for “internet of things” devices in the market, and mainly to operate them, as these devices usually have basic needs for data transmission.
