Field sources revealed, today, Wednesday, the latest developments in the battles on the fronts of Marib Governorate between the Yemeni army and the tribes supported by the fighters of the Arab coalition and the Houthi rebels.
The sources explained to “The Yemeni Scene” that the battles on the southern fronts of the governorate are continuing between the army and tribes on the one hand and the Houthi militia on the other, without achieving any field penetration.
The sources indicated that the army and the tribes of Al-Abdiyyah and Al-Juba are steadfast in their positions after they defeated several Houthi combat formations.
The sources noted that the Houthi militia launched frequent field attacks, indifferent to the human losses in its ranks.
The militia has escalated its military offensive extensively towards Ma’rib since last February.
And the “Agence France Presse” agency reported that at least 100 fighters from the army forces loyal to the Yemeni government and the Houthi rebels were killed in new battles around the strategic city, military sources said today.
A military source in the army forces said that “in the past 48 hours, 68 Houthi rebels and 32 army forces were killed in confrontations and air strikes on the fronts of the province.”
