The Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries, Major General Salem Abdullah Al-Saqtri, discussed today, at the Ministry’s general office, with the Director of Programs at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, “Andrea Berloff”, a number of projects carried out by the organization in our country, stressing the need to correct the errors that accompanied the work during the period. In the past, as well as focusing on infrastructure and sustainable projects, since the amounts spent are large, we must see their impact tangible.
During the meeting, they discussed the project to enhance resilience, which will be implemented by FAO in the two districts of Tibn in Lahj governorate and Khanfar district in Abyan governorate, with a total cost of ten million euros.
During the meeting, they discussed the project to establish a locust control center in Aden, funded by the World Bank.
The Director of FAO Programs explained about the adoption of the fish stock study project, and on this basis a team will be formed from the Ministry and the Organization to prepare the plan.
