“Green Death” .. an urgent warning of the outbreak of 15 dangerous diseases in Sana’a

Today, Tuesday, a Yemeni parliamentarian issued an urgent warning of the outbreak of 15 serious diseases in the capital, Sanaa.

Parliamentarian Ahmed Seif Hashid said, in a post on his Facebook page, which was monitored by “The Yemeni Scene”, that “there are more than fifteen serious diseases due to the use of sewage water.”

Hashid described it as a “green death”.

He pointed out that sewage water is used to irrigate crops and vegetables in many areas north of the capital Sana’a.

And based on a parliamentary report that I read today in the Sana’a Parliament, Hashid affirmed that the failure of the concerned authorities to do their part puts the lives of millions of citizens at risk.

Farmers in the north of the capital, Sana’a, continuously irrigate their crops with sewage water.
