“Houthis” launch a new attack on a southern Yemeni governorate

On Tuesday evening, the Houthi rebels launched a new attack on a southern Yemeni governorate.

Muhammad al-Naqib, a spokesman for the Southern Transitional Council forces, stated, in a tweet on his account on the micro-blogging site “Twitter”, that what he called “the southern armed forces stationed on the Karsh front, north of Lahj governorate, thwarted an hour ago an attempt to infiltrate and attack the militia.” The Houthi movement towards the Shuraijah sector, in an immediate and firm deal, as he put it.

He pointed out that the Houthi enemy militia used various offensive weapons, but its fire was put out and its attacking elements were forced to flee, with the dead and wounded in their ranks.

This comes in conjunction with the Yemeni army’s announcement, today, of liberating new sites in western Taiz governorate, and about a week after a similar attack was thwarted, on the same front.
