The Association of Mothers of Abductees in Aden reported that it had monitored the arrest of more than 400 citizens in the interim capital, Aden, by the Security Belt Forces of the Southern Transitional Council.
In a statement, the association confirmed that the arrest of citizens in Aden by the transitional came “without legal justification, including children and the elderly.”
The association expressed its condemnation of the ongoing campaign of arbitrary arrests against the people of Aden Governorate, against the background of the recent events in Crater a week ago.
The Association of Mothers of Abductees held the Security Belt of the Transitional Council in Aden fully responsible for the lives and safety of those arbitrarily detained, and demanded the immediate release of all those arbitrarily detained and forcibly disappeared.
In this regard, it called on all human rights organizations to support the families of those arbitrarily detained and to stand by them so that their children return to them safely.
Last week, Aden witnessed violent confrontations between armed factions affiliated with the STC in Crater district, which led to the deaths of about 20 people and wounded.
