The internationally recognized Yemeni government condemned, at dawn today, Sunday, in the strongest terms the crime of targeting the Iranian-backed Houthi militia, the celebration of lighting the 59th feast of the September 26 revolution in Midi, Hajjah Governorate (northern Yemen).
Muammar Al-Eryani, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, in the legitimate government, said that the Houthi militia targeted, with an Iranian-made ballistic missile, a festive gathering in the Midi district.
In a series of tweets monitored by “The Yemeni Scene”, he confirmed that the targeting resulted in the death of 5 civilians and the wounding of 17 others, including 3 journalists, with varying injuries, with an indefinite toll.
Noting that this terrorist targeting of the celebration, which was attended by the governor of Hajjah Governorate, the leadership of the local authority, and a number of political and social figures, confirms the Houthi militia’s hidden hatred of the revolution and the republic, and its intention to inflict the largest number of victims among civilians in a war crime and a flagrant violation of international laws and covenants.
Al-Eryani called on the international community and the UN and US envoys to condemn the Houthi terrorist militia’s repeated targeting of civilian objects and the deliberate killing of civilians, the latest of which was the crime of targeting the torch-lighting ceremony in the Midi district, and to present the militia leaders responsible for it to the International Criminal Court as “war criminals”.
On the eve of the anniversary of the glorious revolution, a number of Yemeni governorates lit the torch of September, in light of the continuing battles with the Houthi coup militias, which are an extension of the reactionary and obscurantist Imamate.
