moderate earthquake in southern Hadhramaut


An American geological monitoring center announced that an earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale occurred 90 km south of Mukalla in the Hadhramaut Governorate.

According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred today, Tuesday, at 3:35 am local time at a shallow depth (closer to the surface) of 10 km.

He added, “The monitoring service has identified a second report from the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) confirming the earthquake, as a very weak tremor may be felt by residents of towns or cities near the epicenter.

Yemen is witnessing a rare activity of earthquakes and volcanoes.
