Media sources revealed that the Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs has nominated ambassadors to important and influential capitals, most notably Washington, the US capital.
The sources said that the Yemeni government decided to activate the role of Yemeni diplomacy and increase its presence on the international scene.
The sources indicated that the nominations were made two weeks ago, and Yemen received the approval of some countries, while it is awaiting the approval of the rest of the countries.
The sources confirmed that the Yemeni government, represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, launched an integrated program to assess diplomatic performance and conduct comprehensive reviews, in order to restore life to this flabby sector due to many abuses that have marred it in recent years, according to Al-Masdar Online.
The sources pointed out that bin Mubarak was able to activate the role of diplomatic missions abroad, especially in Europe, referring to several visits he made there, which changed their performance for the better.
Official sources did not reveal the truth of this news, but the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in a previous interview, confirmed that the ministry has reduced the numbers in the diplomatic corps by more than 45 percent since 2015, indicating that there is an inflation in the diplomatic corps.
