The Associated Press revealed a new round of talks, which was held in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
The agency stated that the fourth session of talks, during which the two sides discussed a number of files, including the war in Yemen.
She confirmed that the session brought together officials from Saudi Arabia and Iran who met secretly in Baghdad about a week ago, and quoted an Iraqi official, that the meeting was not ministerial, but it was positive, and dealt with several issues, including the re-representation of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Earlier, the “Tehran Times” newspaper said that the Secretary-General of the National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, represented Iran in the meeting, while the Saudi side was represented by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir.
And last week, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Abdollahian said that his country had made practical proposals to bring peace to Yemen.
He described the direct talks that started between his country and Saudi Arabia as “constructive.”
