Yemeni sources revealed today, Wednesday, that Omani mediation succeeded in persuading the Houthi rebels to allow their kidnapped military leaders to contact their families, after seven years.
The sources told Al-Mashhad Al-Yemeni that Major General Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, the former Minister of Defense, and Major General Faisal Rajab
and Major General Nasser Mansour Hadi, they made contact with their families and reassured them about their conditions and situation.
The sources indicated that the Omani efforts are still ongoing to release them and expel them to the Sultanate of Oman.
The sons of Major General Rajab and Major General al-Subaihi had confirmed that their parents had made phone calls to them, the first after years of captivity.
The former Minister of Defense, Major General Mahmoud al-Subaihi, brother of President Hadi Nasser Mansour, and Major General Faisal Rajab have been in the cells of the Houthi militia and thousands of other prisoners since 2015.
