Positive changes in the economic situation, cancellation of commodity price increases, government action and great international support


Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik revealed positive changes in the economic situation that Yemen will witness during the coming period.

While chairing a meeting of the private sector, on Tuesday, Abdul-Malik reassured traders and importers of positive changes that the economic situation will witness in the coming period. He stressed the importance that their role complement the government’s efforts to ease the burdens on citizens and improve mechanisms of joint work and coordination, which will be reflected in alleviating the burdens on citizens in their daily lives and lives.

The Prime Minister indicated that there is an imposition of illogical price increases, which requires work to discuss costs with the private sector and cancel any unjustified increases.

Moein Abdul-Malik stressed the government’s keenness on commercial activity, stability of private sector businesses, and coherence of supply chains, noting that “this government enjoys great international support.”

The Prime Minister stressed that the mechanisms pursued by the government to achieve economic, financial and monetary stability can be developed, including credit facilities plans to provide credits for importing basic foodstuffs, regulating import operations, mitigating speculation on the national currency, and the mechanism for importing oil derivatives and others.. The private sector, as a partner next to the government, will save a lot of effort and enhance the confidence of the local, regional and international community in the government’s efforts and credibility, according to what was reported by the Yemeni news agency Saba.

Yemen is witnessing the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, as a result of the deterioration of the economy, the collapse of the value of the local currency, the continuing division in the banking sector, and the war that has been going on for more than seven years, following the Houthi coup against the state.
