Saif al-Islam Gaddafi ran for the presidency of Libya


Saif al-Islam, the son of Muammar Gaddafi who was overthrown by the revolution of February 17, 2011, submitted his candidacy papers for the Libyan presidential elections.

A Libyan official at the High National Elections Commission said today, Sunday, that Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi has registered his name, today, Sunday, as a candidate for the upcoming presidential elections scheduled for December 24, according to Reuters.

It is possible that the presidential elections will witness the participation of a number of well-known names on the Libyan scene.

Since the outbreak of protests in Libya in 2011 against the regime of former President Muammar Gaddafi, which ended with his death after the intervention of NATO, his son Saif al-Islam has disappeared from view, while some sources said that he was captured, which was confirmed by his appearance last July, For the first time in 10 years.
