Today, Friday, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced that it had thwarted 3 attempts to smuggle more than 961,000 Captagon pills, which were found hidden in vehicles presented to the Kingdom through the Al-Khafji port.

The authority said that during the inspection of one of the vehicles, the smuggler set his vehicle on fire in an attempt to exterminate the seizures and obliterate the features of his crime, pointing out that after the fire was put out, the vehicle search was completed and 208,000 Captagon pills were found hidden in separate parts of the vehicle.

She added that in the second attempt, about 247,000 Captagon pills were discovered and thwarted, which were hidden in one of the vehicles coming to the Kingdom, as the drugs were hidden inside the vehicle’s spare tire.

She explained that the third attempt was through a vehicle presented to the port led by a passenger and accompanied by his family, and by searching it, more than 406 thousand pills were found hidden in the fuel tank and under the floor of the vehicle from the inside.

The authority confirmed that it is continuing to tighten customs control over the Kingdom’s imports and exports, and is standing by in front of all smuggling attempts, in order to protect society from these pests, calling on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling by informing it of any information via the number (1910) or via e-mail, or the international number. 00966114208417).
