Saudi Arabia is moving steadily towards the 2022 World Cup in Qatar


The Saudi team continued its series of victories in the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, by defeating its Chinese guest (3-2) in the meeting that brought them together today, Tuesday, in the fourth round.

Saudi midfielder Sami Khalil Al-Naji scored two consecutive goals for Al-Akhdar in the 15th and 38th minutes, while his colleague Firas Al-Braikan scored the third goal in the 73rd minute.

As for the Chinese Dragon’s double, it was signed by its players, Aloysio dos Santos and Wu Zi, in the 46th and 90th minutes, respectively, of the match that took place at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, “The Radiant Jewel” in Jeddah.

The Saudi team achieved its fourth victory in a row, and is at the top of Group A, with a full score of 12 points, three points behind its Australian runner-up, who lost to its Japanese host (1-2) earlier on Tuesday as well.

The Chinese national team suffered a third defeat to one win, and it occupies fifth place in the standings with 3 points.
