Saudi Arabia launches a strategic plan to develop a border area with Yemen

Today, Tuesday, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced the launch of a government strategy to develop the Asir border region with the Republic of Yemen.

The agency “SPA” stated that the strategy aims to “transform the region into a global tourist destination, attracting more than 10 million visitors by 2030.”

Bin Salman said that the Asir development strategy will ensure “a comprehensive and unprecedented development renaissance for the region by pumping 50 billion riyals through various investments, to finance vital projects and develop tourist attractions on the lofty peaks of Asir to be a global destination throughout the year.”

Asir is famous for its mountainous nature covered with trees, with a moderate climate in which temperatures are close to half of what they are in the hot central and eastern regions of the Kingdom, which touch 50 degrees Celsius in summer, which made it, for years, a preferred destination for domestic tourism.
