A Yemeni inventor died under torture in the prisons of the Houthi militia in Sana’a, 5 years after he was kidnapped and sentenced to death.

Human rights sources said that Brigadier General Abdul Majeed Alous, who was kidnapped 5 years ago by the Houthi militia, died under torture after suffering a previous stroke and cerebral hemorrhage.

The sources indicated that Brigadier General Allous was subjected to brutal torture and was sentenced to death by the Specialized Court of First Instance in Sana’a, which is under the control of the Houthis, for the crime of criminal agreement, the crime of seeking and communicating with a foreign country, and the crime of aiding the enemy, and the death sentence was upheld by the Specialized Criminal Appeals Division, on 12/15 / 2019 .

Brigadier General Alous is a graduate of Russia and one of the first in his class. Before his arrest, he was the head of the Inventions and Innovations Department at the Center for Strategic Studies in the Armed Forces at the Ministry of Defense. He is the inventor of the security protection system in 2010 and has several patents from China and a mine sweeper patent and was honored for it in Libya.
