The “Hayjat Al-Abed” road was cut off due to heavy rain and local demands to declare a state of high alert

The heavy rains and torrential torrents that occurred in Taiz governorate yesterday, Friday, cut off the main road linking the governorates of Taiz and Aden through the Haijat Al-Abed port.

Travelers confirmed to “Al-Mashhad Al-Yemeni” that the Al-Dabab Road, Haija Al-Abed Road, Al-Qubaita and Al-Aqrod Road were cut off significantly after the roads were affected by heavy rains and torrential rains that witnessed in most areas of Taiz during the past six hours.

Local sources had earlier warned all travelers to and from Aden of the intensity of torrential rains as a result of the rains in the Haijat Al-Abed area.

The extent of the damage to the main road connecting the two governorates has not yet been estimated, while citizens called on the local authorities to move quickly and to put ambulances and civil defense on high alert in the event of any emergency.

It is worth noting that the Yemeni Meteorological Center earlier issued urgent warnings of strong and very heavy flooding rains in Taiz Governorate and 7 other governorates.
