Today, Sunday, local sources reported that Houthi gunmen extinguished the torch of the 59th holiday of the September 26 revolution in Dhamar Governorate yesterday, and dispersed the celebrations by force in conjunction with targeting a military ceremony on the same occasion in Hajjah Governorate.
The sources told Al-Mashhad Al-Yemeni that the Houthis forcibly dispersed hundreds of residents of Dhamar, during the torch-lighting ceremony on September 26, on the eve of the 59th anniversary of the revolution.
The sources indicated that the armed Houthi militia dispersed by force a crowd of hundreds of young men and writers in the city of Dhamar in the “Red Club” stadium during the ceremony of lighting the torch of the September 26 revolution.
This comes after the killing and wounding of 13 members of the Yemeni army affiliated with the recognized government, in a missile attack launched by the Houthis, which targeted an army party on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of the September 26 revolution, in a barracks in the coastal district of Midi, northwest of Hajjah Governorate.
On Saturday evening, Yemenis in all governorates celebrated symbolic celebrations by lighting the torch of the September 26 revolution on its 59th anniversary.
