Today, Saturday, the Houthi rebels announced a new condition for their participation in any upcoming negotiations to end the war in Yemen.

The prominent leader of the militia, Muhammad Ali al-Houthi, a member of the so-called political council, said that “any dialogue is subject to the ceiling announced by their leader, Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, in his speech on the anniversary of the Prophet’s birthday, and the determinants contained in it are the ground for any dialogue.” as he put it.

He pointed out that “the coalition forces realize that the decision of the Yemenis is in the capital, Sana’a, and not in any other capital.” In reference to his Iranian-backed group.

He added: “The Yemeni people prefer peace over war, and demand dialogue, and we are the ones who went to the September 21 Peace and Partnership Agreement.”

This comes as the Houthi militia continues to elude it, and stipulates the opening of Sanaa International Airport and the port of Hodeidah as a prerequisite for its participation in any upcoming negotiations to end the war and bring peace to Yemen.
