The Houthi militia raised the prices of “bread” and “roti” in bakeries in the capital, Sana’a, by 20% after the militia raised the prices of corn flour to more than 20 thousand riyals and wheat to 17 thousand riyals.

Citizens in the capital, Sanaa, told the Yemeni scene today that the Houthis raised taxes on goods necessary for living by 20% in addition to the previous increase during the past years to cover the expenses of the Houthi militia in their futile wars against the Yemeni people.

The citizens added that raising the prices of corn flour to more than 20 thousand riyals and wheat to 17 thousand riyals was accompanied by a rise in the prices of living, as the price of four “roti” small loaves of bread reached one hundred thousand riyals, while yesterday the five roti were at one hundred riyals.

The Houthi militia is still preventing the payment of employee salaries, which it suspended more than five years ago, and not only that, but it is still raising the tax rate without caring about the lives of citizens, while it pays the salaries of its members on a monthly basis.
