The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the legitimate government of Yemen accused the Houthi militia of committing “genocide crimes” against civilians and the displaced in the Abdiya district in Marib.
The ministry said in a statement published by Saba news agency on Friday: “At a time when the Houthi militia is targeting tens of thousands of civilians in the district with various weapons, it is imposing a suffocating siege on the district and preventing the entry of food, medicine and infant formula into the district.”
It called on the UN Security Council to protect civilians by all possible means and to spare them the scourge of war and direct targeting by guided ballistic missiles and heavy weapons. The statement called for international condemnation of the violations committed by the Houthi militia in Yemen.
It is worth noting that the Governor of Marib, Major General Sultan Al-Arada, previously confirmed to the representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Yemen, Renaud Marie Dittal, that the Houthi militia’s siege of 35,000 people in the Al-Abdiya district since last September 21, is a humanitarian crime and genocide that will remain a disgrace on The brow of the international community has been silent so far.
Al-Arada called for urgent international intervention to end the siege imposed by the Houthi militia on the Abdiya district, Marib Governorate.
