The Southern Transitional Council commented on the attempted assassination of the governor of Aden Governorate, Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, accusing the Muslim Brotherhood of providing a safe haven for terrorists in Aden.
A statement issued by the STC’s spokesperson, Ali Al-Kathiri, and published on the council’s official website, said: “In a treacherous terrorist operation, cowardly terrorist hands sought to target the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, the governor of the capital, Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, and Major General Salem Abdullah Al-Saqtri, Assistant Secretary-General. The Council has the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, by a suicide car bomber in Hajif, the capital, Aden, which led to the death of four of their companions and the wounding of five, including three citizens.”
The statement added: “This treacherous terrorist operation is only a result of the safe haven provided by the Muslim Brotherhood to terrorist groups under its umbrella to serve the Houthi militias to facilitate their recruitment into the liberated areas, which began clearly through their obstruction to the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement and their unjustified evasion of it.”
The transitional concluded his statement by saying: “This operation coincides with the collapse of the fronts in Shabwa and Marib in favor of the terrorist Houthi militia, in a joint and dangerous conspiracy scheme targeting all of the south and the Arab coalition, in addition to targeting the security of the capital, Aden, by trying to break the prestige of maintaining security. and security achievements in the capital.
