The Sudanese Foreign Ministry issues a statement regarding the coup of Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan against the government of Hamdok.


Today, Thursday, the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed new developments regarding the Sudanese army’s coup against the government of “Abdullah Hamdok”.

The Sudanese Foreign Ministry said that the ambassadors who reject the military coup and the undermining of the transitional period are the legitimate representatives of the government of Sudan.

She pointed out that “all decisions issued by the army commander, Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, are illegal and not backed by the constitution,” according to “Russia Today”.

For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the transitional government, Maryam Al-Sadiq, welcomed “the positions of Sudan’s ambassadors, diplomats and administrators, who announced their rejection of the military coup, and their failure to recognize any decisions issued by the army commander.”

Al-Mahdi explained, “I am proud of the ambassadors of Sudan who came from the womb of the glorious revolution of the people and its valiant steadfastness, and every free ambassador who rejected the coup is a victory for the revolution,” and stressed that “they are the legitimate representatives of the government of Sudan.”
