The Tunisian President decides to withdraw the diplomatic passport of former President Moncef Marzouki

Tunisian President Kais Saied said that he will withdraw the diplomatic passport of former Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki, “after calling on France to stop aiding the Tunisian regime,” Reuters reported.

Saeed asked Justice Minister Laila Jafal to open a judicial investigation into Marzouki’s statements, saying that there is no room for conspiracy against the internal or external security of the state.

Marzouki had said in an interview with French media that he was proud of his efforts with French officials to thwart the holding of the Francophone Summit in Tunisia, given that organizing it in a country witnessing what he called a “coup” is support for dictatorship and tyranny, as he put it.
