A senior official in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards claimed that the city of Marib is about to fall into the hands of their Houthi proxy, considering that negotiation with Saudi Arabia is the only way to end the war in Yemen.
The Assistant for Operations Affairs in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Brigadier General Abbas Neil Foroshan, said in an interview with the Iranian Tasnim news agency that the Houthis, whom he called the “Yemeni Resistance”, “have grown their military capabilities enough and the enemy cannot defeat them,” adding: “Therefore I expect that The Saudis have no choice but to negotiate an end to the Yemeni war, and the wisest way for that is to reach an agreement and a peaceful settlement.”
“Today in Yemen, the resistance fighters are very smart and equipped with the latest military equipment and have acquired the knowledge to build and design this equipment,” Froshan continued.
And Froshan added: “Today, the city of Marib is about to fall, and if the control of this city is slow, it is because of the humanitarian arrangements carried out by the Yemeni armed forces and the popular committees,” according to his claim.
In the same context, the head of the internationally recognized Yemeni government, Dr. Moeen Abdul-Malik, said that the outcome of the Ma’rib battle will determine the course of the war in the country “to a large extent”.
Abdul-Malik added that the US efforts are in vain as a result of the intransigence of the Houthis, stressing that the militias were not serious in previous negotiations, according to what was reported by Al-Hadath channel.
