The United States of America has announced actions it is taking with the United Nations to address the economic crisis in Yemen and alleviate the humanitarian crisis.

The US State Department said in a statement, “The US Special Envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, stressed during his conversation with the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Martin Griffiths, the need to address the economic crisis in Yemen to alleviate humanitarian need.” ‘.

The statement added that Linarking and Griffiths “discussed additional efforts to stabilize the economy for the sake of Yemenis and the future of Yemen.”

Yemen is witnessing a frightening economic collapse, a terrible deterioration of the local currency, and a sharp rise in food prices, in the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, due to the war that has been going on for more than 7 years, as a result of the Houthi militia coup against the legitimate government.
