Mayan bint Shihab, the cousin of the Crown Prince, and her father, Shihab bin Tariq bin Taimur Al Said, was the commander of the Royal Navy of Oman, before serving as Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs since March 9, 2020.

The wife of the Crown Prince was known for her mastery of the art of photography and interior design, and for her support of charitable projects.

Mayan Bint Shehab’s photographs reflect her genuine interest in nature, as she was able to highlight it in a remarkable way.

The Crown Prince’s wife launched her first art exhibition in January of this year, which bore the name “Fragments of Imagination,” and included thirty light photographs in a modern style that embody the subtle features by which the displayed works were classified into three main themes, including flowers, reflection, and landscapes in an artistic style. One, which raised 46,000 Omani riyals ($119,600), the proceeds of which went to support the education of more than 500 to 1,000 students in Muscat and the Sultanate’s governorates.

Mian Bint Shehab had previously spoken about her artistic experience, through a press interview with the editor-in-chief of “Sikka” Manar Al-Hinai, who confirmed that “her work in art has developed through many attempts and mistakes until it has become what it is today.”

Reflections is also the first digital art exhibition for the wife of the Crown Prince of the Sultanate, and the first to be held outside Oman in her own gallery at the Gulf Art Museum.

Mian Bint Shehab has more than 87,000 followers on her Instagram account.

It is noteworthy that the Crown Prince of the Sultanate of Oman, Dhi Yazan bin Haitham, celebrated his marriage contract to his cousin Mayan bint Shihab, on Thursday, November 11, in the Mirror Hall, at the Al Alam Palace in Muscat.

Dhi Yazan bin Haitham is considered the first to receive the mandate of the covenant in the modern history of the Sultanate of Oman, as he was appointed to the position of Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, which resulted from the merger of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Sports Affairs, the Ministry of Arts Affairs and the National Youth Committee, since August 18, 2020.
